Michiko Ishihara Roberts is a highly trained Japanese actress specializing in Jidaigeki (Japanese Period Drama) and classical Japanese aesthetics. A graduate of the esteemed Seinen-za Theatre Company, she overcame immense competition to receive rigorous training in traditional performance. Her international training includes the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles, BELLA REINE SYSTEM refining her ability to deliver emotionally resonant performances for global audiences.
With a career spanning over 25 years, Michiko has appeared in over 50 major theatrical productions at Japan's most prestigious venues, including the Teikoku Theatre and Meiji-za Theatre. Her versatility was showcased early in her career when she performed for Tokyo Disneyland and as a cheerleader for the Yomiuri Giants.
Recently, her performance in the film “Places We Knew” (2022) garnered international attention, with the film being selected for the Academy Award-Qualifying Indy Shorts and BAFTA-Qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival. As a recognized Kimono model and cultural presenter, Michiko brings an unrivaled authenticity to roles requiring "Shosa" (traditional conduct) and the "Shizu" (serene stillness) of the samurai class.
