Professional Biography
Michiko Ishihara Roberts is a highly accomplished Japanese actress with over 25 years of professional experience across theatre, film, and television. A graduate of the prestigious Seinen-za Theatre Company, she possesses extensive training in Jidaigeki (Japanese period drama), traditional movement, and classical etiquette. Her international craft is further elevated by training at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles and the Bella Lené System.
Throughout her distinguished career, Michiko has performed in over 50 major productions at Japan's most revered venues, including the Imperial Theatre (Teikoku Theatre) and Meijiza Theatre, mastering both historical and contemporary roles.
On screen, Michiko recently starred in the acclaimed short film Places We Knew, delivering a poignant performance as a mother navigating loneliness and love. The film earned official selections at prestigious, Academy Award–qualifying festivals, including Indy Shorts International Film Festival and the BAFTA-qualifying Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.
With a rich background that includes performing at Tokyo Disneyland, cheering for the Yomiuri Giants, and working as an elite kimono model and cultural presenter, Michiko brings deep physical discipline and authentic Japanese aesthetics to her craft.
Michiko is SAG-eligible, holds a U.S. Green Card, and maintains professional bases in both Japan and Texas, making her fully available for international projects.
